Miracles do exist in this world.

There’s an equation that’s been around for 14 years, known as “SJ + ELFs” = Miracle.

It’s been a 2.5-year long wait for Singapore ELFs (SJ’s fandom is collectively known as “Ever Lasting Friends”). The guys from Super Junior lapped it up with a fusion of electrifying performances, synchronised dance moves, exaggerated Cosplay costumes, excellent fan service, cranky and funny banter, sweet talking, a series of heart-warming speeches that streamed tears down SJ’s and ELFs’ faces.

Be it them in the power ranger costumes, hip hop wear, batik tops, high school uniform, or black suits running around the stadium, they just got the sea of blue into a frenzy.

Despite their popularity all these years, never a moment would you find them arrogant. All they exude is boundless positive sunshine energy, humble yet down-to-earth, dorky personalities.

Super Show 7 was Super Awesome!

It was a 3-hour get-together brimming with love, energy and laughter, with lots of wonderful  memories.

If one were to sum up Super Junior’s personalities, it would be:

Super Dorky, Super Crazy, Super Energetic, Super Loving, Super Sincere, Super Sweet Talkers, Super Crybabies, Super人来疯.

Artistes who are 人来疯 will bring you lots of surprises on stage.

They share so much love for chilli and pepper crabs that fans wonder, if they look forward to having local delicacies more than meeting SG ELFs, because these dorks proclaimed that the fans reminded them of crabs too. *cold sweat*

The guys tried very hard to bridge the language barrier by conversing more in English and Mandarin. They also promised that Super Junior and ELFs would have more days to be together.

For those who were present, you wouldn’t have missed this unforgettable, epic moment when leader Lee Teuk was running to every little corner of the stadium and making his 90-degree bows to thank the fans.

This overwhelmed and warmed the hearts of all present instantaneously.

It doesn’t matter if Singapore has a smaller fan base.

It’s the sincerity that warms hearts.

It all boils down to a lot of hard work, effort and thoughts that come right from within.

Singapore is the 1st overseas stop for Super Show 7. It definitely means a lot to the guys after a long hiatus from the music scene, especially when they only have 7 members for this world tour.

There may be no solo stage performances (also lack of SJM and D&E performances) and unfortunately, that revolving centre stage and chandelier lights did not make it to Singapore (they had it shipped to Bangkok instead), but it was such a heart-warming and enjoyable evening for every one present.

Though SS7 is not as flamboyant or extravagant as SS3 and SS4 with lesser classic hits, it is one concert that’s focused on sharing what they have been up to lately, showcasing their new works, new ventures and showing appreciation to that sea of blue, who have always given their relentless support.

What is a Super Show, without the extended stage, the guys’ silly, outrageous, out-of-this-world Cosplays costumes, running around the stadium to get closer to fans at all corners, plus some abs-flashing and their signature farewell thumb kiss?

The guys took the stage decked in Black Suits, delivering their dance tracks from the latest album “Play”, which included “Black Suit” and “Scene Stealer” where Eunhyuk had a solo dance intro.

They then went on to the extension stage with another dance hit “Mamacita” before they did their self introductions.

The roaring crowd would already be a testament to how long the fans have waited and how much they love these guys.

By then, the guys were already all soaked with perspiration and began taking off their coats to tease the fans a little. Fans went screaming away when they saw Siwon’s “see-through” shirt, showing his toned physique.

Just a little complaint – Why so little abs flashing this time round?

Only Lee Teuk flipped a little of his T-shirt to show his abs and Yesung in his netted see-through top (though he needs to work out a little more).

What happened to Eunhyuk’s PINK Jacket in Seoul where he flaunted his abs?

(SJ performing “Shirt”)

Every Super Junior Member CAN Sing

With main vocalists Kyuhyun and Ryeowook currently serving their military service, the main responsibility for the leading parts would fall on Yesung, whose signature husky, bass-like vocal (ranges between tenor and baritone actually) adds a tinge of 沧桑 & sexiness to the melodies .

He is not only capable of delivering emotionally touching ballads, but also hitting a wide range of notes.

With the guys embarking on their Super Show 7 World Tour, he has also changed his trademark black hair with short bangs to becoming a platinum blonde.

While fans are worried that it would be strenuous for him to be singing the main parts, the other members also chipped in to ease his load. Nonetheless, you would still be serenaded with what Yesung has to offer you with his vocal. It’s literally 听出耳油.

One may ask, would SJ still be able to deliver the high notes then?

Well, with a severe lack of manpower (especially the lead vocalists), the remaining members proved that they have what it takes to deliver their parts too.

You get to hear more of other members’ vocals. In fact, every SJ member can sing and know how to play musical instruments, specifically the piano.

Dong Hae covered quite a fair bit for the leading parts and high notes. He also played a piano intro for a lovely ballad “One More Chance” that he composed for the new album “Play”. With him helming the piano introduction to this sentimental piece during SS7, it got many fans swooning with admiration.

“One More Chance” has such beautiful melody and lyrics that brilliantly depicts of his lost love that came and go like the rain. It’s pretty 诗情画意.

It was sufficient to keep fans swooning and having this track played repeatedly over the next couple of weeks.

He would go a long way as a musician. It’s not often you get to see dashing guys who can dance, sing and compose music.

It’s no wonder everyone in SJ + ELFs 把他捧在手心上

(Memories + Stars Appear)

Some Special Song Performances:

It’s You – One of the well-loved classics with a tinge of sexiness with the veil that blindfolds them.

As these guys forge on to their 30s, they took their old classic “It’s You” yet to another more mature level. They probably wanted to show that they are no longer the 青涩小伙子s when they perform this song, so they had themselves blindfolded with the translucent black scarf and add some 神秘感。.

There was about half a song when they danced with the scarf on and with the female dancers before they proceeded to the centre stage to dance to the standard chorus part for this song.

I love how they are always looking into new ways to improvise their dances.

Some of the new songs from “Play” that you may like:

Runaway – My favourite medium-fast track, which is a chirpy song showcasing their energy and “young at heart” natures with those high school uniforms. They look really dashing in those uniforms as overage high-schoolers. It just brings you back to your teenage years when you had crushes on your seniors.

It suits these boys very well; they have not changed a wee bit since they debuted in 2005.

Asking if students in SG also wear school uniforms, they mentioned that it’s okay even if ELFs are only young at heart now. Well, these guys just wouldn’t stop to dig at their fans whenever they can too.

One More Chance – This song needs no more introductions. Donghae’s composition, with his piano introduction + members’ soulful solo renditions = 听出耳油

I Do – A sequel to their hit single “Marry You”. It works perfectly well after Lee Teuk’s heartfelt “proposal” and would make all ladies go “Awwwwww….”.

The Lucky OnesAnother medium-fast track, which is also a personal favourite. If only they had the revolving stage and chandelier lights for this one in SG, it would have made such a pretty sight.

(This is Love)

(Too Late)

Raving to all All-Time Classics

Much as we love whatever the guys have prepared for us from the new albums, the crowd got to an all-time high when it came to the classics that propelled these guys to fame, such as “Sorry, Sorry”, “Mr Simple” & “Bonamana”.

They didn’t dance to the full songs for the medley during “Sorry, Sorry”, “Mr Simple” & “Bonamana”, but ran round to the different stages to rock on with the fans.

“Rokkugo”, “It’s You”, “Miracle” also brought back many fond memories.

If you recall how they love to play the epic “human stacko” game during “Rokkugo”, the poor victim this time round was Lee Teuk at the bottom and Heechul shrieking in pain as the guys pounced on top of one another.

Oh yes, not forgetting the fan chants during these songs.

It’s something that just comes naturally to ELFs whenever SJ performs.

Albeit a pity that there were no solo or D&E performances, they gave this opportunity for their dancers to shine, which included hits such as “You + Oppa Oppa + Can You Feel It”.

While it’s a good gesture, one can’t help but wonder if it is because they are older and need more time to recuperate before they got back on stage?

Bridging the Language Barrier

The guys made some effort in conversing more in English and Mandarin this time round. It is really the 1st time I hear my favourites, Eunhyuk & Lee Teuk, speaking more than 1 sentence in English.

While fans may be laughing away at their “broken” English, this attempt was deeply appreciated by all.

SJ reassured that since ELFs have been with them for a long time, they promise that SJ and ELFs would have more days to be together.

Can’t tell you how sexy and attractive they looked at that moment in time, when they said these earnestly with teary eyes.

The Goofy Super Rangers who are Super人来疯

Everyone who is familiar with Super Junior would know there’s no such thing as an “IDOL” image for them. They are great variety hosts, also known as Variety Idols in Korea. They still go cranky, dorky, goofy, silly and behave the same, whether they are on or off stage.

Fans probably love their easy-going, unpretentious and quirky nature.

It’s hard to ever forget seeing them cosplay as different varieties of VEGETABLES, Super Heroes, Beyonce, Lady Gaga & ELSA

Now, they are back as SUPER RANGERS.

While this cosplay pales in comparison with the above mentioned crazier renditions, it does put a smile on your face when you see how these 30++ year olds do not mind donning silly outfits to entertain their fans, trying to fight off “Baddies” aka the White Balloon and Shindong as “Megazord” fighting Evil.

You absolutely can’t associate them with being the cool guys dancing on stage to “Sorry, Sorry” and “Bonamana” at all.

彻底破功.

More so when you see Lee Teuk, Eunhyuk and Donghae doing something silly like this.

Pretty synchronised and entertaining, I would say.

All it matters to them is to make their fans happy, no matter how silly or dorky they can get with their COSPLAY costumes.

What’s image to them?

As long as they make everyone happy – EXCELLENT FAN SERVICE.

While some of their female cosplays may look scary, I do miss seeing them in dresses and running around in high heels. They look more feminine than many of us, especially for Lee Teuk and Hee Chul.

Showcasing their Talents

Other than Donghae who flaunted his piano techniques, Heechul and Siwon showed us some solo bits too.

Ever since Heechul met with a very serious car accident a decade ago, he wasn’t able to do intensive dance steps. His ankle hurts so much that he couldn’t even walk after rehearsals. The ever so fearless Kim Heenim actually tear on TV when he talked about how he felt like a burden to the members.

He wanted to opt out of SS7, but his members assured that the shows will be better with his presence. It does help definitely.

Nonetheless, he still showcased his drumming skills during “Sorry, Sorry”.

I do miss the previous versions of “Sorry, Sorry” in SS5 & SS6 though, when the guys would be dancing around the revolving stage, with Heechul drumming in the middle.

Siwon prepared a short Disc-Jockey segment for the fans who have been awaiting his comeback on stage.

(Let’s Dance)

Super Cheesy but Heartfelt Speeches + 不正经 Talk

The members took turns to say their Hellos and how much they missed SG ELFs (more so chilli and pepper crabs) after not being here for 3 years.

Lee Teuk has a glib tongue as a renowned Emcee, addressing fans as “Princesses” and fellow members as “Princes”, which resonated perfectly with the VCR themes where the 7 Princes would take care of that 1 Princess.

Ladies, how do you feel being treated like a Princess for a day?

Guys, you need to learn a trick or 2 from these veterans.

Lee Teuk’s definitely the “Cheesy Sweet-Talker”.  Sweet talking is undoubtedly our beloved leader’s forte, not to mention he has such a gentle voice and pretty dimples, that would melt hearts.

Expressing several times that they are grateful for ELFs’ support throughout the years (no matter how tough some of those years may be), indeed tugged at your heartstrings for a fair bit.

They don’t just sweet-talk, they walk their talk.

You know they are sincere; in fact, very earnest guys and we do appreciate that.

Sometimes, you really need to express how you feel.

Siwon who seemed pretty weary, has been on hiatus for months till SS7. He seemed to be quieter and toned down for this tour too, though his chiselled good looks and lovely smile still prevailed. He mentioned that he wouldn’t tear again like he did during SS7 in Seoul, but he’s grateful that fans have been waiting patiently for him and to him that’s happiness.

It doesn’t matter what he does, because being able to get back on stage again, means a lot to the fans who love him.

The unwavering support when you hear them cheer for him when he started to give his speech, was certainly touching.

With the lack of Maknaes Kyuhyun and Ryeowook’s liveliness, Yesung seemed to be more 放得开 & cranky these days, to make up for it.

Shindong has put on some weight, but since when does his figure matter to the ELFs?

He’s such a talented host, dancer, choreographer and how much less fun would the Super Shows be without his and Eunhyuk’s contributions in planning and making these sell-out shows so much more enjoyable?

He’s the mood maker of the group, often getting everyone into hilarious laughter.

On a side note, Shindong did look quite good when he was slightly slimmer (after his military days).

Donghae, who’s obviously the one with the most screaming fans, is indeed a very good looking and dashing chap.  He scores high not just in the aesthetics department, but also shines in his dancing and music compositions for several of SJ’s albums, such as “A Short Journey”, “Haru”, “Shirt”, “Don’t Wake Me Up” & the latest ballad in SJ’s “Play” album, “One More Chance”.

He’s another sweet talker, who always addresses his fans as 亲爱的宝贝们 and how SG fans would still be waiting for them despite not being here for 3 years.

His most prominent feature would be those bewitching, doe eyes that sparkle and seem to speak a thousand words. Many things seemed to run through his mind as he gazed into space. He’s pretty sensitive and emotional too.

He’s a CRYBABY too, who looks like an art-piece even with those tears of pearls. He could easily win if you challenge him to tear within 10 seconds.  You can presumably describe him as 柔情似水,画一般的男”.

Shindong and Eunhyuk are the Directors, for this Super Show as well.

We enjoyed SS7, as per all previous Super Shows.

You just need to give these 2 guys the CREDIT & a Big thumbs up.

You would be guaranteed that there would never be a dull moment. Everything was pretty well-paced.

Just as impressive.

They probably understand that those who attend Super Show 7 would be their long-time fans, who wouldn’t mind listening to lesser classics but more of their new songs.

All time favourites such as “Twins (Knock Out), “Super Girl”, “A-Cha” were missing from the list. My personal favourites “Don’t Don” and “Superman” were omitted as well.

All that it matters is for us to see these guys take the stage again.

These new songs will also become Classics some day.

Lee Teuk subsequently asked Eunhyuk and Shindong to sum up what SS7 is all about.

Cheeky Eunhyuk mentioned that the gist of SS7 was that, it was prepared with the intent that they are still passionate about chilli and pepper crabs no matter how long they have yet to taste them. It’s akin to the passion that ELFs have for them. That’s what keeps them going on to prepare the concert.

t

Well, boys will be boys, even when they are all in their 30s already. *shakes head*

He loves crabs so much that he incorporated it into his dances.

People often joke that Eunhyuk is the “Ugliest” in SJ.  He may look ordinary, but it’s a 360 degree transformation when he’s on stage dancing to those tunes.  The charisma and confidence that he emanates on stage is the reason why fans call him “Jewel Boy” and “Dancing Machine”.

He literally shines, sparkles, glitters and glows.

Looking at how he and Shindong manage all the Super Show planning (from conceptualization to realization, dance choreography) etc, I can only say I am way beyond impressed. He’s also always looking into new ways to improvise their dance performances and writing rap lyrics.

What a Super CRYBABY he is too, especially when he sees the fan projects that were prepared by ELFs during the Super Shows, he could just freeze in his performance and tear uncontrollably.

We understand it isn’t easy to keep a group of “monkeys” together but Leader did it well.

He’s known to be gentle towards fans but stern towards the guys. You would often see him steal glares at the guys when they start their crappy conversations & having to help them round up their messy “Thank You” speeches too.

Lee Teuk’s Tear-Jerking “Proposal” Speech:

November 6 2005, I still can’t forget, the day we met.

Thanks to you, we were able to hold on for this long time.

June 25 2006, the time when we won first place, the moment we receive ….. awards, with your cheer, love and support, we made a new history together.

But there were also hard times, hard times that brought us and you both to the point of giving up but we went through it, we held our hands tightly more than ever and day by day, we overcame it together.

It’s been 14 years. The childish young idols have become the big seniors in the KPOP scene.

The same girls who listened to Super Junior and have always cheered for Super Junior, became college students, someone’s lady and a child’s mother.

The time passing by may be sad but natural, we were happy to share these precious memories with you all and spend the same time under the same sky.

As we have more days to be together than the time we have spent together…

We hope to make long-lasting, beautiful and joyful memories together.

I will never forget 13 March 2010, the day I first met Singapore ELF.

Time has passed but you guys are still by our side. Super Junior is forever grateful for your love and support.

We may not be perfect for you, but would you accept our proposal?”

He was greeted with a resounding “YES” of course.

Who would say NO to such a sweet guy?

Well, a point of correction – The 1st Super Junior Concert SS3 in Singapore was held on 29th and 30th January 2011. They first came to Singapore for a Samsung showcase on 6th June 2010.

Teukkie, you remembered the wrong date, but no worries, you are forgiven for your effort.

You got at least part of the hall tearing with you.

The maternal instinct of wanting to give you a big, tight hug and wipe tears off your face was going oh so strong.

Here’s the Ending MENT which Lee Teuk referred to as “messy”:

Shindong: We haven’t been here for some time but it’s great coming back here when it’s full of great energy. Thank you guys for your support. You guys are the best.

Donghae: You are fishes (cold joke because he’s known as “Fishy”). I could not express how happy I am to be reunited with you guys. We miss the last super show here (actually they did come for SS6 too). It was disappointing and sad. I’m glad that I’m back here. Going forward, we will definitely make more opportunities to come back with greater shows for you guys.

亲爱的宝贝们, 今天来到我的演唱会,非常的感谢。你们的热情,你们的爱, 非常非常很感动。谢谢你们。我爱你们。我们永远在一起,要吗? 是不是,好不好?

Yesung: SINGAPORE, Everyone, Thank you so much! I change my concept a little. I want to speak more English….. (After much effort not knowing how to continue) I feel that I need to speak more Korean, are you guys fine with that?

Everybody, you guys had fun? Really? Can I come back again? Are you going to give us a warm welcome again? Thank you so much for your support. I had an unforgettable time with you guys. 谢谢. Thank you very much.

Siwon (no translation required): There is only one happiness in this life. I want to say I’m so happy to be here. Really thank you for everything. Thank you, Singapore.

谢谢大家。我爱你们,我爱你, 你爱我。 Thank you for coming, Thank you Super Show.

Heechul starting off with his Favourite narcissistic fan chant:

Saranghaeyo Kim Heechul
(I love you Kim Heechul)”

“Wooyutbigal Kim Heechul,
(milky skin Kim Heechul)

Welcome to Singapore. I’m really looking forward to return for a tour to Singapore with my members. I really want to visit all the countries, not just for show but to really visit and tour the countries with my members. Thank you all, 好久不见,谢谢, 非常非常很高兴,谢谢, 我爱你们。

He mentioned about how he loved visiting Universal Studios for his solo photo shoot and how he wished that he could tour around Singapore with his members some day.

That got the audience cheering in agreement.

Eunhyuk: Hey, what’s up guy? Hey man. Cool. I can speak English. You understand? Ok man, I love you guys. You love me? Thank you, guys.

Eunhyuk who’s “English Co. Ltd” was saying cheekily to the fans “I need you tonight and Heechul started shouting “Police Police”!!

The cheeky “anchovy” then added on some sexy moves. As if that wasn’t enough, Heechul blurted a “Bounce Bounce” that sent the audience roaring into hysterical laughter.

Well Heenim, we know most ELFs are above 18 years old, but it’s just so hilarious when you have no idea what he will blurt out the very next second.

Heechul is like a time bomb, you never know what he’s gonna say next, but that’s what makes every Super Show so interesting! He’s quirky, funny, fearless, uncontrollable and UNSTOPPABLE.

There’re no limits, 没有底线 for him.

Eunhyuk: “Thank you la. Chilli crab, pepper crab, pepper crab.  Yeah it’s delicious. I can speak Korean right? (He ran out of his limited English words)

I have so much fun tonight. But I’m a little sad for I can only see you for one night. Please continue to give us your support. We should be back again and next time we are back, we hope to be back for a longer time.”

Yesung singing in background and the way that Eunhyuk and Siwon mimicked him was hilarious (just like how he looked in the picture below).

Eunhyuk who was pretty hyped up by now (thanks to Heechul), started flaunting some of his limited Mandarin: 大家永远一起,好不好,是不是,对不对?

Then these 2 guys went: 对对对。。 四十是十四。。红包拿来。

Eunhyuk: 我爱你们, see you again soon.

My heart goes out to Lee Teuk who had to apologise and round up their messy speech.

Lee Teuk: It was a little messy, let me organise for you. Sorry, let me apologise on behalf. Even though this place is Singapore, our fans here are not just made up of Singapore fans. We have Japanese princess, Vietnam princess, Myanmar and Hong Kong princesses. All the princesses from all over the world have gathered here.

Tomorrow we are meeting our princesses in Thailand, anyone from here going?

Yesung/Siwon: In Thailand they have real princesses.

Lee Teuk: We are talking about real princesses too.

We are not left with many songs now. Was it fun?

Until we are back, please stay happy and healthy. Whenever you are upset or going through suffering, please remember the fun we have tonight.

Will you do that?

Well, we are only left with one song, let’s take a wefie. Now it’s time to touch up your makeup.

*Eunhyuk gesturing fans to pat some foundation on their face*

Excellent Fan Service

Other than being cheesy sweet talkers, these guys did all they could from running around the stadium to get closer to the fans at every corner, to going down to the mosh pit to take selcas, signing rubber ducks and throwing to the audience, running and bowing to everyone, there was something else that many of us have missed.

Shindong was spotted passing 2 bottles of mineral water to fans at the mosh pit who raised boards saying they were thirsty as they weren’t allowed to bring water into the venue.

Now, Now, that’s just such a considerate and SWEET to the MAX gesture from an artiste on stage. You probably think they would just splash some water down to the mosh pit.

The guys from SJ are fairly warm people on and off stage, and especially doting to the fans who have been with them for so long.

No one could ever forget how Lee Teuk made his sincere 90-degree bows with every few steps that he ran, covering the entire stadium.

It’s gonna be etched in our minds and hearts for a long, long time.

KINGS or VETERANS of KPOP?

Many say they are old for a boy band (above 30 years old) and they are no longer the “KINGS” of KPOP, BUT it takes MUCH grace, perseverance, continuous hard work, for them to remain in the music industry.

They are also active as individual hosts, actors or even have solo or mini group ventures, but they always work hard to preserve that “brand name” as Super Junior.

They may not be the best of friends in real life, but how often would you be able to find co-workers who can brave through all these storms in life with you and to stick together for more than a decade? It’s a revolutionary bond that they share.

There’s more than just a good reason why Super Junior has been around for long and are continuing to do so, no matter how many hurdles and obstacles they have to clear.

What many people are mistaken about is, it’s not whether they are in their 30s or can’t do head-breaking dance, it is about whether you have FUN with them and create unforgettable memories.

Fan Projects

The other one thing that you wouldn’t miss out in any Super Show would be the fan projects, which would sometimes send tears down SJ’s faces.

While there are lesser fan projects this round, the little “white light” project during “Shining Stars” in that sea of blue was a pretty sight. The white lights represent that the guys are the “Shining Stars” in ELFs’ lives and vice versa.

It was a good opportunity for the guys to look at the sea of blue and white lights while singing that meaningful song.

There were also fan banners when the guys were at the centre stage singing “Memories + Star Appears” (still a pity that the revolving stage wasn’t here), after Lee Teuk’s Speech with “I Do” and “Miracle” at the ending Ment and their signature Thumb kiss.

WHEN and WHY would you feel Goosebumps during a SJ concert?

It is when you realise, that it’s not just the guys on stage doing their best to reciprocate their fans’ love and support, but also the fans showing their undying love, accepting and embracing these guys for who they are (no matter how many mistakes they make) with all these fan projects.

It’s a touching sight, either way.

Fame is just a fleeting phase, what remains would be love and support over time.

Some words from the guys at the ending MENT during “Shining Stars”, specifically from my 2 favourites who made the effort to speak English:

Eunhyuk:

I would like to make a promise to you.

You guys have been with us for a long time till now, right?

We promise that we will have more days to be together.

You guys will be with us, right?

Thank you guys and we love you all guys.

Thank you. Thank you, Singapore.

Lee Teuk:

My princess, do you enjoy the concert?

We will always love you and we will always be at your side. I love you. 我爱你。谢谢

By now, you should have felt HOW MUCH they love their fans and HOW MUCH they would like to be back again and again.

Awwww……

What Happens After the Peak?

They are one of the KPOP legends and have been around for 14 long years. They have tasted their peak years of success and fame, and also many trying periods where respective members were embroiled in different incidents.

You can say 他们是一个多灾多难的组合, 但因为有 杂草的精神, 所以能够经得起考验, 而至今都屹立不倒

Even if you think that the PEAK era for these guys is over, they prove that they are a very resilient boy/men band that can withstand the test of time and weather through storms.

As years pass and their careers mellowing a little after their peak, they get to do more things that they like individually, such as hosting, acting, solo or minor group acts, musicals, etc. Fans who remain are the True Blue ELFs who have been with these guys through their ups and downs. It’s good in a way for them.

It’s apparent you will gain many fans during your popular years, but it’s those who choose to stay with you even as time passes, that you will be truly grateful for. These fans would render their support in whatever they do and also embrace their not-so-perfect side.

Everyone makes mistakes. Almost every member has gotten into some kind of “trouble” over the years. Much controversy has surfaced but never have their fans forsaken them, even in an era where new and young idols surface every week.

(Girlfriend)

I think they are at a more “comfortable” phase now and they have adjusted their mindset well.

There will be many generations of KINGS in this industry and no one stays at the top forever.  这是不变的定律

But the crux is, even after your “Golden” years have passed, how many groups would have that graciousness (气度), professionalism, showmanship, humble and down-to-earth personality like these guys here to continue acing the Survival Game?

I’m pretty sure they are the “cream of the crop”.

I feel a little sad for them that, the ticket sales aren’t as good as previous years. They also expressed that they hope to see us for one more night the next round.

I guess as these guys become more active again in the music scene and having the maknaes out of army soon, this is possible.

Several members broke down in tears and we could all understand why.

It’s a mixture of happiness, feeling touched and a pity that the rest of the members couldn’t be with them as they charge on.

We always say it is quality and not quantity that matters, but for Super Junior, Unity is strength.

There are no qualms about their quality performances, but quantity is also important to them.

Super Junior was initially put together as an experimental project group (similar to testing guinea pigs), but they managed to stay on as a team because they are an ensemble of various talents who are goal-oriented. Everyone has areas that they excel in and they are all very dedicated to their respective roles. They are humble, willing to try new things and have a NEVER-SAY-DIE attitude.

However, they know that they are the most powerful when they stand together as ONE.

Like Lee Teuk said, no matter how hard things are, how unhappy or depressed we are, we should just all let loose and enjoy this moment and also remember that SJ and ELFs would still go on for a very long time.

Lee Teuk : Until we are back, please stay happy and healthy. When you are sad, depressed or going through suffering, please remember the fun we had tonight.

Everyone was touched and a little bewildered at the same time seeing Teuk running round the stadium, saying his thanks and taking his bows.

Some may say that’s the role of a leader, but I beg to differ. He could just save that effort and say a “Thank You”, without having to run around like this at the age of 35.

Such is the standard of a legendary boy band leader in KPOP history. He also tried to round things up when his band mates made a mess of out of their banter or appreciation speech. Things must have been pretty rough for them, especially for leader who has to ensure that everything runs well despite all that has been happening.

Many have expressed concern for Lee Teuk’s recent Instagram posts that seemed depressing and all the stress that he has been through. We could feel it in his speech too but hopefully, he learns to let loose a little and just embrace and love his present.

The group has been through many ups & downs all these years.

What doesn’t break them, makes them stronger.

Whenever things happen, he would be the one to apologise on behalf of his dong saengs first.

Yet, the sensitive and sentimental leader would often tear during his “Thank You” speeches, for this journey has never been easy for them, but the ELFs have always been around for them.

He’s always smiley & bringing joy to many people on stage; no matter how he may be suffering in his personal life (fans would know what we’re saying here).

He was made the leader of SJ as he’s the oldest, but he’s exceeded far more than what’s required and showed us what real leadership qualities is for the past 14 years.

He has led the boys into being a worldwide brand name and Superstardom, yet not losing themselves in the process.

Don’t put everything on your shoulders, Teukkie.

The guys are mature enough now to share burdens with you.

Like you said, we have more days to be together than the time we have spent together.

Rounding up the show with the Encore segment, the guys performed a few songs such as “Devil”, “Spin Up” and an all-time classic “Miracle”.

(Devil)

(Spin Up)

It’s no wonder how some people describe SJ as Shen Jing / Shen Jing Bing (神经/神经病).

They’re a bunch of Crazy 人来疯s who are totally UNCONTROLLABLE on stage.

Shindong kicked off by doing squats during “Devil”, Hyukkie some sexy dance, it was Teuk who took the lead by rolling his old bones on stage.

The rest followed suit.

They are literally a boy band, typically ‘boys at heart’.

Lee Teuk: We are left with just one more song. I remember performing this song for all you guys back in 2010. For you guys who created a miracle for us, this song is for you. Last song MIRACLE!

(Signature farewell thumb kiss)

Indeed, “Life couldn’t get Better” with Super Junior around.

SJ + ELFs = Miracle.

It’s just such a simple but hard to attain equation.

Miracles do exist in this world.

Just look at Super Junior & their Fandom, ELFs.

It’s tough to pull through these 14 years, but they did.

We will definitely be there again when the guys are back with Super Show 8 with more members who are currently on hiatus.

If you stayed till end of the credits roll, there was also a short speech that Kyuhyun and Ryeowook made through their managers in the VCR.

All I can say is, Super Junior 真有粉丝的心.

It’s not often you get to see such genuine, sincere, hardworking, down-to-earth, dorky artistes, who put their fans as priority.

I hope their home country media and fans would show them more support.

They are precious blue gems in this industry, who deserve more affection.

It doesn’t matter if they age from Super Junior to Super Senior and me from Noona to Ajumma. I will still be there as long as they continue staging performances.

These dorks are worth every cent of your ticket money and support for a 3-hour (or sometimes longer) show.

It was such a heart-warming evening that it would probably stay etched in the hearts and minds of those present, for a very long time.

They say 认真的男人最帅,but we think 认真+有诚意的男人更帅

Thanks for the magical evening.

Our Wanjanim (Princes), Come back for SS8 soon!

Paili, Paili!

It’s a promise, we will still be there even when you become Super Senior and we become Ajummas.

Let’s grow old together!
